As determined by certified Warmblood judges, inspections results indicate that he is producing foals who can most definitely excel in DRESSAGE as well as working western / endurance / hunter disciplines!
Bred in the 60 year-old Al-Marah Arabians Double-R (RAFFLES-RISSALIX /RASEYN) tradition of superior performance horses. Sired by one of the all-time leading producers of Arabian Cutting / Reining Champions, AM SEA CAPTAIN++ (14 National winners to date). While known for its tremendous western horses , Al-Marah s bloodstock has been the basis for most of THE most popular English discipline programs known today. AM GHOST SHIP s lineage is a rock solid performance pedigree that within 5 generations has produced 93 horses who are either sires / dams / or producers of well over 250 U.S National & International titles in Halter/ English / Dressage / Western & Endurance. Every horse in his pedigree has either been a champion, produced a champion or BOTH.
For instance, AM SEA CAPTAIN++ s daughter, AL-MARAH IRON LADY is the dam of U.S. Res. Nat. Ch. Fourth Level Dressage, AL-MARAH QUEBEC and U.S. Top Ten Futurity Cutting, AM DREAM MYLADY.
AL-MARAH STOPSIGN, dam of AM GHOST SHIP, is also the dam of AMPHANTOMGALEON, a National Champion sire. Her dam, AM WHITE PINE is out of Al-MARAH THRICE MINE, also dam of Canadian Top Ten Sidesaddle, East Coast Champion Western Pleasure, halter and English Pleasure champion AM COUNT PINE+/. AL- MARAH THRICE MINE is also the dam of champion producer AL-MARAH PINE CONE and of National winner producer AM IPINE FORYOU, dam of U.S. Top Ten Stock Horse AL-MARAH ROYAL FOE. AL- MARAH THRICE MINE is also the dam of champion producer AL-MARAH PINE CONE and of National winner producer AM IPINE FORYOU, dam of U.S. Top Ten Stock Horse AL-MARAH ROYAL FOE. Her dam *THORAYYA produced 3 champions and 2 producers of National winners: among them, halter and park reserve champion *THORA GRANT, and park champion AL-MARAH SOLA MIA .*THORAYYA is a paternal sister to National Champion sires *COUNT DORSAZ and *RANIX, and a maternal sister to GENERAL GRANT, a sire of National winners in England.
AM Ghost Ship, himself a National winner, is a powerful, balanced, beautifully moving horse with incredible legs and HEART, evident with his 1997 U.S. Nationals Cutting Horse Futurity win---with a broken hind splint bone! Dr. Matthew Mackay-Smith, DVM, medical editor of Equus magazine, and the only man to win the Tevis Cup and the Old Dominion in the same year, describes AM GHOST SHIP as exactly the type of horse I like to ride . Lovely short head /Long, clean neck / Large, loose-hanging windpipe. As perfect a Form to Function horse, as you will ever find. He is continuing the tradition by predictably producing beautiful, sensible, beautifully moving athletes in the Al-Marah tradition.
AM Ghost Ship frequently throws COLOR when bred to grey mares. 12 of his 14 non-grey foals are out of GREY mares! 4 of the 6 chestnut foals have white / flaxen manes with chestnut & flaxen tails. Of these chestnut foals, 2 are red chestnuts, 3 are liver chestnuts and one is a golden chestnut.
AM GHOST SHIP was evaluated and declared as an L1 FIRST PREMIUM SPORTHORSE STALLION in the fall of 2001 after passing a European style sporthorse inspection, producing and EXCEEDING his required number of certified First Premium Sporthorse Foals---and having a National performance records to boot! He is also now an approved AMERICAN WARMBLOOD REGISTRY stallion, and will be on their stallion roster in 2003. He is the ONLY Arabian stallion with a working western performance record that has accomplished this feat. Sporthorse inspections are not like horse shows, but instead each horse is shown individually in hand, at liberty with stallions required to perform a performance test. Movement and conformation are each 40% of the score with the remaining 20% being type and disposition. This is a very tough standard to be judged against, as it is a pure FORM TO FUNCTION type of scoring. Stallions are required to free jump 3 times through a jumping chute over a single jump and 2 oxers whose height is raised with each successful pass. Not all horses pass these tests, let alone are scored this highly and many do fail. To top this off, all of his foals from the last two foal crops were evaluated and declared First Premium Sporthorse Foals / Youngstock. Uniformly superb young horses! His fillies and colts scored within a point of each other, thus foals of both sexes are equal in quality. 11 of his foals will be cross registered with the AMERICAN WARMBLOOD REGISTRY.
